We are excited to announce the winners of the second edition of the European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Award. The 9 winning towns, cities and regions, stand out in a strong field of shortlisted candidates for their contribution to a more equal and inclusive Europe. They have demonstrated creativity and commitment in implementing a breadth of initiatives to advance outcomes of equal inclusion for people across the diversity of age, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, sex, disability and lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, non-binary, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) identity and underpinning these with effective strategies, institutional structures and organisational systems.
Their efforts were recognised at an Awards ceremony on 27 April 2023 hosted by the European Commission and attended by Commissioner Dalli, Vice-President Jourova and, Kate Feeney of the European Committee of the Regions.
During the ceremony, the participants voted for an additional public vote winner: Gdańsk, Poland was victorious.
